The Nokia N900 is Nokia’s first Maemo-powered mobile phones that promises to deliver raw speed and power of a computer into a mobile phone. This has been made able by concocting a Debian-Linux based OS, ARM Cortex - A8 superscalar microprocessor core running at 600 MHz, 1 GB of application memory (256 MB RAM, 768 MB virtual memory) and 3D graphics accelerator with OpenGL ES 2.0 support in a device that promises to be almost what the computer has to offer.

Mobile Phone as Intelligent Key for Automobile

TOKYO (Sept. 24, 2008) — Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., NTT DOCOMO, INC. and Sharp Corporation announced today that they have jointly developed a mobile phone capable of functioning as an intelligent key for automobiles - a world’s first*1. The device will incorporate Nissan’s Intelligent Key system, already a standard feature in various Nissan vehicles.
