In reference to the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte posts, I have learnt that the premium business class Nokia 8800 also liaise with a prestigious car, the Aston Martin. By this collaborative effort by Nokia and Aston Martin, it’s obvious that Nokia is positioning the Nokia 8800 brand with luxury and style - just like the prestigious Aston Martin.

Nokia 8800 Aston Martin Edition Key Features
Price : Approx. £950
Integrated SVGA Camera
Bluetooth profiles for stereo audio, remote control and multiple connections
Pop-up concept, moving mechanics
Premium finishing and design
Specially reinforced glass for screen
This phone is a limited edition and caters a niche market, which is the Aston Martin lovers. To begin with, the Nokia 8800 Aston Martin has a dicrete laser etched Aston Martin logo on the front of the stainless steel housing with words Power, Beauty & Soul laser etched on the desk stand. Like the other Nokia 8800 series, it has a set of unique ringtones, screen savers and wallpapers. Just like the car, the phone will also roar - with a V8 Vantage’s 380 hp V8 engine sound for its ringtone.

A mark of quality and prestige is laser-etched on the Nokia 8800 Aston Martin Edition
Just like any Nokia 8800 series, the Aston Martin edition has a great body, with the polished glass coating and stainless steel combo. It has a dimension of 107mm x 45mm x 15-16.5mm and weight about 134g that feels just right in your hand. It also has a bluetooth profiling that will sync with any Aston Martin cars. It also says sometihing about remote control. I’m not sure what that means, but if you can turn the phone into a remote for locking / unlocking the car, and maybe start the car with it (which I don’t think is the case) then WOW that’s awesome.
Other than that, the phone is pretty much standard, if not sub-standard. It only comes with am SVGA camera, no 3G and a 16-million color screen. Oh, and an internal memory of 64 MB. What can you really do with that? Since it supported ACC and MP3, on top of the pre-installed graphics and sounds, how much is there left for other media?
Verdict
If you can buy an Aston Martin you should definitely have this phone. It’s a perfect phone for that weekly Aston Martin’s Owners Club meeting. For a whooping £950, this is one of those cool accessories that owners should have - which you can use to talk, of course.
